Not sure how to dispose of your burnt out or broken light bulbs? It is very common for light bulbs to end up in landfills at the end of their lifespan, but did you know that they could be recycled? We recycle light bulbs at our Campbell River, South Cowichan, Duncan and Esquimalt locations!
Many light bulbs contain mercury and other harmful chemicals that can contaminate the soil and drinking water if they are not disposed of correctly. By recycling your old light bulbs you are keeping dangerous chemicals out of the atmosphere and also providing materials that are used to make new light bulbs. In fact, using recycled light bulbs to make new light bulbs requires less energy consumption.
We accept a wide variety of light bulbs and even light fixtures including fluorescent tubes, UV and germicidal lamps, incandescent bulbs, as well as bike lights, floor lamps, ceiling fixtures and even chandeliers. We can also take broken bulbs as long as they are delivered in a sealed container. See below for a detailed list on the types of light bulbs and light fixtures that we can accept.
